President Obama finally made a brief statement regarding the domestic terrorist attack that left one U.S. soldier dead and another severely wounded. It took three days, and he refused to call the act what it was — terrorism by an Islamofascist with an anti-American, anti-military agenda — but he did it.
(Of course, he released a statement strongly condemning the murder of late-term abortion advocate George Tiller — the man responsible for 60,000 late-term abortions that the New York Times hailed as a hero — within hours of Tiller’s murder.)
Today he chose to address the Muslim world from Cairo and snubbed Israel yet again, making it quite clear that the United States under his rule is an ally in polite rhetoric only. Israel needs to act, and act now, if she’s to survive the growing threat from Iran — the country that Obama said “deserves” nuclear power.
Obama needs to remember that he is not president of the world, but of the United States, and as such, his first priority is keeping us safe. Instead, he is putting us at greater risk practically every time he opens his mouth.
It is events like these, and the socialization of the auto and banking industries, that make it harder and harder for me to remember that I don’t hate the president.
I really need to tattoo 1 Timothy 2:1-4 on my forehead: “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet lifein all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth.”
