if you’re a man at all

The hallmark of a good band is whether or not they can sound as good (or in some cases, better) live as they do on the CD. And I’m not just talking the obvious (and horrendous) examples of Ashlie Simpson and Britney Spears. I love All-American Rejects and Panic! at the Disco, but the instances where I’ve seen them perform live on various talk shows and/or other appearances have been…lessĀ  than stellar.

Paramore is an example of a good band. Hayley Williams sounds as good live as she does in the studio, and that band…man, those guys are awesome. Especially the drummer. When I’ve got them playing on my iPod or in the car or wherever, I find myself listening to the drum sequences because they’re amazing. And they sound really, really difficult.

Anyway, I’m posting a live performance of “Decode,” the song they wrote especially for the movie Twilight, from Jimmy Kimmel back in November, I think it was.

I love this song (although “I Caught Myself” edges it), and this is an excellent performance.
