america’s favorite past time

I took my 11-year-old cousin, Abby, to see Twilight last night after our Thanksgiving festivities.

I seriously liked the movie even more the second time. I was able to pay attention to other nuances (in between answering Abby’s 53 questions) and I still can’t get over the Cullens. One of my favorite scenes is so incredibly minor, but the first time Bella sees them isn’t as it’s described exactly in the book. She’s sitting with Angela and Jessica in the cafeteria facing this long bank of windows and sees them walking by outside. It’s almost as if they’re walking in slow motion, but without it being at all cheesy. And they really are just very, very pretty. (Even though I think Ashley Greene is way prettier than Nikki Reed, and isn’t Rosalie supposed to be the most beautiful person, like, ever?)

Another favorite scene?

Yeah, that would be the awesome, awesome baseball. I approached that scene almost exactly the way I approached seeing Quidditch on the big screen for the very first time. It is just SO cool. That scene is precisely why I love Jasper and don’t have a problem with him the rest of the movie, and while I was more or less indifferent to Emmett while reading the books, he’s become one of my favorite characters. (And I think Kellan Lutz only had, like, maybe four or five lines in the entire movie…
