rocked my face off

Fringe's Joshua Jackson and Anna TorvI will further dissect tonight’s two-hour Fringe pilot when I’m not about to fall asleep, but I loved it.

Best I can figure — and not that it needs any sort of comparisons assigned it — it’s like a mix of the freakishly cool, non-alien early episodes of The X-Files with a little bit of Alias thrown in for good measure.

Of course, I could just be getting the Alias vibe because of J.J. Abrams, and because Anna Torv *so* reminds me of Jennifer Garner (crossed with Claire Danes), but still. That’s the parallel I’m drawing.

And just when, exactly, did Pacey Witter grow up?

So glad Fringe is the one new show I picked to watch this season. I loved the intrigue, the actors, the characters, the writing — everything.

Thanks for totally rocking my face off, J.J.

Sweet!! I’m trying not to read too much about it because we’ve DVR’d it and haven’t seen it yet.

I watched the replay last night and I was hoping you’d have a review. I’m definitely on for the series….but did you think some of the dialogue in the pilot was a little trite? Of course I can’t think of any specific examples at the moment, but there were a few lines that had me thinking, “you’re kidding!” But all new shows get better after the pilot.
