Matt Roush said something the other day that worried me — namely that Chuck was in a very, very competitive timeslot on Monday nights at 7 p.m. CST and was probably the most vulnerable.
He has a point.
Chuck is up against the likes of Prison Break, Gossip Girl, ratings juggernaut Dancing With the Stars, and CBS’ Big Bang Theory/How I Met Your Mother pairing.
So since he was worried, I was worried. Seriously? Although I fully expect Fringe to rock my face off, and although I am quite involved with LOST, and although I can never quite get enough of Hugh Laurie, David Boreanaz and/or John Krasinski, Chuck is pretty much my favorite show. It combines everything — humor, action, snark and a really satisfying will-they-won’t-they love story.
But thanks to NBC via Kristin Dos Santos, I can heave a ginormous sigh of relief. The network’s picked up Chuck’s back nine (yes, before the premiere’s even hit), and so the show’s second season is assured.
Thank you, NBC. Please disregard anything negative I might’ve said earlier.
