A critic whose name has escaped me called Burn Notice “just freaking cool.”
Short, sweet and to the point.
And more accurately, it’s a spot-on description.
Seriously, I sat here for 10 minutes trying to come up with some prolific, well-written review of the series and the new season, and I just kept going back to how, well, freaking cool it is.
It is pure entertainment comprised of plenty of wit, action, snark, and Jeffrey Donovan.
(Okay, so the supporting cast is exceptional, but I find I can barely drag my eyes away from Donovan when he’s on screen.)
If you haven’t caught on yet, what are you waiting for?
Netflix the first season on DVD, and then catch up with the second on USA.com.
Seriously.

Couldn’t agree with you more! We’re on the season finale of #1 and will definitely catch season 2 either online or subscribe to the iTunes. I think it will auto download for us each week for a mere $35 for the season. Well worth it for us since we don’t have cable. Bruce Campbell cracks me up and I’ve finally gotten used to Gabrielle Anwar/Fiona – she’s quirky but I love the tension in their relationship. And it has had some really sweet moments.

I agree. My friend was just over here and she doesn’t watch BN but I showed her the picture I included in this post and told her how amazingly hot he was (especially with the cleft and the scars) and she’s like, “But isn’t that the guy who was a jerk in Hitch?” I had to tell her I hadn’t seen it. You guys both love that movie — I suppose I have to see it.

It’s funny. I just saw the ad last night that stated “just freaking cool” and thought how appropriate. Everything about that show is enjoyable. Thanks for getting me into this.
